Ducati 350 Vern Jnr Special
..." After finding himself with an ex-Swiss Army Condor, Tony Hannagan (Beveltech, Melbourne Vic) decided to construct a “Junior” version of his 2006 Vern special which would also reference the endurance racing successes of Ducati
singles at the Barcelona 24 Hour races back in the 1960s. A new frame
design (with the fuel reserve housed in the spine) was built from Chrome
Moly steel and fitted with laser-cut engine mounting plates, the wheels
& brakes came from an Aprilia RS125 while the forks are off a 998
Foggy Replica. The bodywork is a 3/4 scale revision of the classic NCR
design with a touch of Aprilia in the seat." ....

The motor has had the compression raised,
some porting done, alloy timing gears fitted and the flywheel removed
(total loss ignition). A flat slide Mukuni is currently installed (to be
replaced with a 32mm Dell O’rto). The result is indeed “junior” -
compared to the original Condor the wheelbase has been reduced by 130mm
to 1270mm, while the weight (with oil, no fuel) is 96kg - a remarkable
81kg reduction! Photographed near Melbourne, Vic. 2015."...
