MV - Moto2 / Forward-racing







La storia delle competizioni motoristiche è strettamente legata a quella di MV Agusta, la casa motociclistica europea più vincente di ogni epoca con 75 titoli iridati (38 piloti e 37 costruttori) dal 1952 al 1974. La scuderia del conte Agusta, infatti, era schierata al via della prima gara di quello che diventerà il Motomondiale. All’esordio Carlo Ubbiali conquistò il quarto posto, per poi vincere già la settimana successiva in Olanda. Era il 3 luglio 1949. John Surtees, lo stesso Ubbiali, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read e poi, naturalmente, Giacomo Agostini: piloti entrati nella leggenda e che hanno fatto la storia del motociclismo, in sella a moto MV Agusta. Un’epopea leggendaria, che ha segnato anche la storia italiana, con MV Agusta simbolo della rinascita e poi del successo di una nazione intera.
Quarantadue anni dopo, il binomio tra MV Agusta e la massima espressione delle competizioni motoristiche ritorna, con un ruolo da protagonista. MV Agusta entra nella Moto2 con il Team Forward Racing.
MV Agusta ha deciso di affidarsi per questa sfida a Forward Racing, squadra fondata nel 2009 che corre nel Campionato del Mondo Moto2 fin dalla sua nascita, il 2010, salendo sul podio nella gara inaugurale e ottenendo la prima vittoria nel 5° Gran Premio, a Silverstone. Il Forward Racing Team ha partecipato anche al Campionato del Mondo MotoGP, ottenendo il primo posto nella classifica mondiale riservata alle moto Open nel 2014 con Aleix Espargaró.
L’inedito progetto, che correrà nel Campionato del Mondo Moto2, è già in uno stadio avanzato di sviluppo e i programmi prevedono il debutto in pista nel prossimo mese di luglio.

“Il sogno di riportare MV Agusta nel Motomondiale era nato con Claudio Castiglioni, a cui sono sempre stato legato da profondi rapporti di stima e amicizia, e si è avverato con suo figlio Giovanni” ha detto Giovanni Cuzari, CEO del Forward Racing Team. “È difficile per me esprimere con le parole cosa rappresenti essere parte attiva di un progetto insieme a MV Agusta e CRC, due eccellenze italiane che hanno creato le più belle moto della storia. Ho lavorato tanti anni perché tutto questo potesse accadere e ora mi sento fiero di poter annunciare l’ingresso di MV Agusta nel Campionato del Mondo Moto2 insieme a Forward Racing. Sono anche consapevole della grande responsabilità che comporta avere un marchio così prestigioso sulle carene della nostra moto. La nostra squadra, al fianco di MV Agusta e CRC, si impegnerà al massimo per raggiungere, nel minore tempo possibile, quello che tutti gli appassionati, e noi per primi, si aspettano e sognano”.

MV AGUSTA RETURNS TO GP MOTORCYCLE RACING


The history of motorcycle racing is closely linked MV Agusta's history, the most successful European motorcycle manufacturer of all time, with 75 world titles (38 rider and 37 manufacturer) from 1952 to 1974. The MV Agusta team lined at the start for the very first race of the series that has become the MotoGP World Championship. At the beginning Carlo Ubbiali won the fourth place, and then won the race the following week in the Netherlands.
It was July the 3rd, 1949. John Surtees, Ubbiali himself, Mike Hailwood,  Phil Read and then, of course, Giacomo Agostini: riders who became legends and who defined the history of motorcycling, riding a MV Agusta motorcycle. A legend that also marked Italian history, with MV Agusta as symbol of the rebirth and success of an entire nation.
Forty-two years later, MV Agusta is back on the top, with a leading role. MV Agusta joins the Moto2 World Championship with Team Forward Racing.
MV Agusta decided to rely on Forward Racing, a team founded in 2009 that runs in Moto2 World Championship since its inception, 2010, reaching the podium in the inaugural race and obtaining their first victory in the 5th Grand Prix in Silverstone. Forward Racing Team have also participated in the MotoGP World Championship, obtaining the first place in the world ranking reserved for Open bikes in 2014 with Aleix Espargaró .
The first prototype that will run in the Moto2 World Championship is already in advanced stage of development, the debut on racing track is in scope for next July.
